Lightfall Book Eight of Eight
The journey ends....
Lightfall Eight Grip Gear Goodbye Lightfall Book 8 eBook Jordan Taylor
After being so caught up in these character for 7 prior installments, there was a moment of sadness and worry about this final chapter. Sad to see it all end and worried there would be too much left hanging. Well.... yes I was sad many times as the book wound down and surprisingly emotional, but was very satisfied with how everything was tied together. This complete saga was such an endearing look into what really makes a family and what counts most in our daily social interactions with those around us and how such things develop . It, was about accepting differences yet seeing that we are all not that different in the end, and not to look at what people are, but who they truly are inside. A great amount of positive social commentary was posited in this series and am glad to have experienced it. While there was a satisfying conclusion, I see there is room for much more in a continuation or sequel, also more sideline stories like "Butterfly One" which takes place in this world. As Grip so nicely put it , "It has been a pleasure riding the river with you. I pray that we may someday cross more together." A wonderful story to read.... Bravo!Product details

Lightfall Eight Grip Gear Goodbye Lightfall Book 8 eBook Jordan Taylor Reviews
Seemed like a longer gap between Book Seven and Eight coming out, but definitely worth the wait.
This series was a roller coaster ride of emotions. Definitely not Disney-esk like so many where everything is tied up in a pretty ribbon. It is rich with historical reality, blended with fanciful steampunk elements and of course, zombies. That said, the zombie factor tapers off in the last two books.
Book Eight is more about the characters and relationships than fighting zombies, although the plague continues as the backdrop theme to the very end. This final installment makes you realize just how high a price everyone paid for their decisions all along way.
I really love the series and did not want to see it end. I found myself thinking about the characters long after the final chapter. If all you care about are zombies, you'll probably be disappointed. Lightfall is more about complex characters and messy relationships. It's great.
