He's about to fumble his chance at love...
A sweet, funny romance from USA Today bestselling author Shanna Hatfield
Brody Jackson lives and breathes football. As a wide receiver for a popular arena team, he's determined to make it back to the NFL. Cocky and confident, he doesn't have the time or energy to be bothered with a serious relationship. When a sweet, naive girl breaks through his defenses, he has to decide if he'll let go of his dreams or fumble his chance to win Haven's heart.
Haven Haggarty is woefully inept when it comes to men and matters of the heart. Successful in her job as an image consultant with an up-and-coming company, she wishes she could enjoy as much triumph in her dating efforts. When she falls hard for a handsome wide receiver, Haven realizes she needs to tackle her fears or miss the opportunity to experience once-in-a-lifetime love.

While it started off good if a bit unbelievable, it quickly devolved into one of those "day in the life" type stories with a lot of episodic scenes that did nothing to advance what little there was of a plot or to show us a character arc or traits.I also found it entirely unbelievable and even a little insulting that the hero decided the heroine was a "good girl" and that he "intended to keep her that way." That wasn't his decision to make. He didn't get to impose his values or decisions on the heroine. They never had a discussion about their physical relationship as they began dating, which I found disingenuous considering that the hero had a history of one night stands. I kept waiting for this issue to be discussed and outside of a few short lines where the hero makes his sexist remarks, this situation isn't spoken about. I love sweet romances, but when you have a worldly hero, I think it at least merits a conversation about it.
The author does a fair bit of head hopping in a single scene, which really detracts from the story.
I got to about 52% and gave up. I skimmed through to the end. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Love at the 20Yard Line A Sweet Football Romance edition by Shanna Hatfield Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Neither Haven or Brody are expecting what they find in each other. Their chemistry is palpable and takes both of them surprise. Watching them fall in love and work through the obstacles they face is both fun, and at times, bittersweet. Shanna knows how to draw you right into the romance her characters are experiencing and make you feel what they’re feeling, both the good and the bad. And both the good and the bad lead you to the joyfully happy ending. I loved the epilogue! This book is definitely worth the read!
I absolutely adore sweet, clean romance novels, and Love at the 20-Yard Line proves this genre does not have to be boring or overly syrupy. The characters were well developed, with well-defined personalities that were very believable. To say I enjoyed the humor and tension would be an understatement. This book is well worth the time to enjoy.
This is the first book I have read by Shanna Hatfield and I am happily impressed. The characters were developed into people I want to know. I loved the storyline, the humor, the details, and just fell in love with the characters. I've already bought the Women of Tenacity series and the first three books of the Grass Valley series, and earmarked my next group of books to buy. I'm looking forward to reading my way through the Shanna Hatfield book list. I advise you to give this author a try and you will be joining me in my reading trip through Shannaland!
True romance at its best. Brody and Haven have a wonderful connection from the beginning. He is a football player and she is a naive young lady. Their romance is suppose to only last during Arena football season. They have such fun together and the love they have is awesome. The emotions in this book are wonderful. When he decides to try to further his football career and move on the emotions really flow. Both are sad. Haven't family is so fun and all things they do together are awesome. Love t his book. Want to read more about this family.
This story introduces you to Arena Football, if you've never heard of it, and our two main characters who are past their mid-twenties though not seeking love but find love seeking them. It's a sweet romance that will have you raising your eyebrows a couple of times at some of the scenes (not to worry though) and laughing out loud at some others. The strong family relationships that weave throughout the story are the icing on the cake....oh yeah, Shanna even adds a recipe at the end of the book for the cake that's mentioned in the story (how fun is that?). Those of you who've read Shanna's "50 Dates With Captain Cavedweller," will see this book was written around some of her own personal experiences. Shanna Hatfield's story's are true treasures that will enrich your life; one way or another!
I've not read many books by this author, Shanna Hatfield, but I enjoyed this one. Generally, when I read a book, it is for pure enjoyment, and not to identify areas that are weak.. That being said, I truly enjoyed the book, the characters, and the setting. I learned about arena football, and I could relate to Haven's rowdy brothers. I enjoyed the escapades while dating, and with the romance that ensued. Haven and Brody were direct opposites, but compatible as a couple. I felt that Haven, being raised on a farm, was portrayed as being far tooo innocent. As an Inspirational book, there were a couple of times that I wondered where the author was going, but overall, a good read. I would recommend this to my friends, and I will definitely seek out more of this authors books to read.
This was quiet a surprise. I had read the reviews before purchasing bit thought for the special price it was worth a try. I love a good deal. Even better it was a book by Shanna Hatfield. Hard to go wrong.
My biggest negative is it seemed to be drawn out. Although I understand it has to last a football season. I loved all the characters. My least favorite were Haven's brother Tom and her cousin Allie. Spoiler alert...I thought the scene outside the concert was hilarious and he well deserved it. Way to go Haven!
The Chemistry between Haven and Brody was off the charts.
This was not a so-so book. It was not disappointing. It was filled with a lot of laughter and love.
Shanna is one of my favorite authors and once again she knocked it out of the park.
I would like to read something on Hale. I know he is not a football player but I loved loved loved him and how he took care of his sister.
